Education
God of Compassion currently oversees two schools. The school in Montagne Carree currently has over 200 students enrolled in kindergarten through sixth grades. The school at Baradares has over 70 students enrolled in kindergarten through fourth grades. We never turn away a student because their parents cannot pay tuition, but we do request that they pay what they can when they can. We teach a Christian education, focusing on reading, writing and math. We also have begun to provide a hot lunch daily to our students. The 2020-2021 school year we had 26 students went to the state exam, 24 students passed the state exam and in August 2022 the other two students are scheduled to take the exam, please continue to pray for these students.
The current 2022-2023 school year begins in September and we have over 200 students enrolled in our program
Future Plans
Our future plans call for an expansion to a secondary school for those who desire to attend. Currently students in Montagne Carree who complete 6th grade and pass their state exams must walk at least an hour from the primary school to reach a secondary school. In addition, the cost (up to $40 a month) for can be prohibitive for families. In recent years generous donors have offered to help pay the way for promising students to receive a secondary education.
We one day hope to have a computer training center in Montagne Carree as well. This is now possible even without electricity with a generator and a satellite dish. We hope also plan to expand the Baradares school to include grades K-6.
